The Celtics (7-1) rebounded from their first loss of the year, by beating the hapless New Jersey Nets (0-7) 86-76. As predicted, Josh Boone’s recent good play has been rewarded with more minutes. Boone played 37 minutes, scoring 8 points, and getting a team high 12 rebounds. Ray Allen scored 12 points for the Celts, but was 0-3 from deep…still yet to find his groove….
The Grizzlies (1-6) fell to the Clippers (3-4), 110-113. In case you haven’t heard, Allen Iverson has left the team for personal reasons (yawn)…this is very good news for Marcus Williams…who was about to be relegated to mop-up duty (played a total of 5 minutes in the previous 3 games). Williams played well, scoring 7 points, and adding 6 assists in 16 minutes….he did turn it over 3 times, however. Rudy Gay continues to shine…he led all scorers with 33 points. Hasheem Thabeet played 11 minutes, scoring 2 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots…progress!
