Breaking News: Thabeet Breaks Jaw

Hasheem Thabeet suffered a broken jaw during a head to head collision with teammate Zach Randolph during this evening’s loss (79-93) to the Trail Blazers… tough setback for Thabeet…no word yet on how much time he will miss…

Is he going to be rocking the Rip Hamilton mask for his career now?

Speaking of his career, sounds like this guy has some work to do. In ESPN’s rookie rankings he is #36. 36! The guy was drafted 2nd or 3rd right?

The knock against his passion continues:

” His lack of strength, balance or scoring skills is not the issue. Give him that same set of weaknesses, but replace his passion for the games with Blake Griffin’s, and Memphis would have a center who would be the envy of the entire league.”

Thabeet’s height allowed him to shine against lesser competition in college…a bruiser like Dejuan Blair was able to move him around…He has only been playing organized basketball for about 7 years…he still has room to improve, and I believe he will…

I think the masks are more for nose / Cheek bone type injuries…but here is a fun gallery of masks…
