The Hornets fell to 3-8 after being buried in Atlanta, 98-121.   The Hornets are 0-2 under the tutelage of head coach and general manager, Jeff Bower…New Orleans is in a bad way right now..without Chris Paul, it’s difficult to imagine the Hornets winning a game, let alone righting the ship…Rumors are beginning to swirl that Emeka Okafor, who scored 8 points, and posted 12 rebounds and 2 blocks tonight, may be involved in a trade with Sacramento..we will keep an eye on that and update the situation as soon as we get more information.  Hilton Armstrong scored 3 points on 1-1 shooting, in 9 minutes…

The Celts lost their second game in a row this evening, 104-113.  The 113 points allowed was a season worst…The C’s played uncharacteristically bad defense in this one.  Ray Allen scored 24 points, on 8-18 shooting…he was 2-6 from deep…AJ Price didn’t see any time in this one….Boston falls to 8-3.

How good have Charlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon been playing as Pistons?  The two combined for 54 of the Detroit’s 106 points, in a 106-103 win over Caron Butler and the Wizards.  Charlie V. went off…again, 25 points on 10-21 shooting.  Gordon went for 29, on an identical 10-21 shooting.  Butler had 16 points in a losing effort…The Piston improved to 5-4, the Wizards fell to 2-7.

What can you say about the Nets?  They put forth a great effort tonight, especially on the defensive end, leading 80-78 with less than a second to go..and then D Wade broke the hearts of the undermanned Nets..hitting a game winning 3 pointer with 0.1 seconds left, giving the Heat a 81-80 victory…Rough…The Nets fall to 0-10.  Josh Boone was scoreless on 0-1 shooting, and posted 6 rebounds….

The Grizzlies got a much needed victory tonight, 97-87, over the T-Wolves.   Rudy Gay scored 19 point on 7-17 shooting, and added 5 rebounds and 6 assists…Marcus Williams was so-so, 17 minutes, 4 assists, 2 turnovers..3 points on 1-5 shooting…eh…the important thing for the Grizzlies is that they stopped a 7 game losing streak…improving to 2-8.

Look out for the Thunder, they win again, this time on the road in San Antonio, 101-98.  Russell Westbrook showed no ill-effects from the injured ankle he suffered last time out, so Kevin Ollie didn’t get as much time as I thought he would tonight…none the less, he contributed, scoring 2 points, and posting 2 assists…Ollie has not turned the ball over since the season opener…8 games straight…10 assists to zero turnovers…that’s how you come off the bench and contribute..Oklahoma City improves to 5-4.
