UConn 33, Notre Dame 30 – 2OT
Good things happen to good people. I firmly believe that. What happened today in South Bend wasn’t a miracle. It’s what happens when you don’t give up…when you believe in something. This isn’t about football, this is about life. The lessons this team has taught not just us, but everyone across the nation, will never be forgotten. We will never forget this game, this season or this team. I have never been prouder…
The Defense, what can you say? Holding Jimmy Clausen and the Irish to just 6 points in the second half, just a fantastic effort.
Zach Frazer must be smiling ear to ear. Walking out of Notre Dame Stadium a victor…maybe not how he originally drew it up, but a victor none the less. He may not have the flashy numbers that Clausen had, but he’s got the win. He was a bit wild early, but settled down…With the Huskies down three in the fourth, Frazer threw an interception in Notre Dame’s end zone. The Huskies could have folded up shop…The Irish wish they did. Frazer redeemed himself in the first overtime…connecting with Kashif Moore, who went up in double coverage, and made a fantastic catch for a touchdown…
Jordan Todman and Andre Dixon were nothing short of amazing…46 carries for 244 yards and two touchdowns.
Todman added a kick return, which was huge, pulling the Huskies even at 17 mid-way through the 3rd.
Late in the game, Dixon took over. He had two touchdowns called back on holding penalties in the waning moments, the first of which was an absolute phantom call…I don’t know what the ref thought he saw, but Marcus Easley did not hold. The second was questionable, I’ll leave it at that. The Huskies settled for a game tying field goal.
On the ensuing possession the Husky defense came up huge. Kendall Reyes forced a fumble, and the Huskies recovered it in Irish territory with under a minute to go. A couple of Dixon scampers later, Dave Teggart lined up for the game winner…the win the whole Husky community was waiting for…hoping for…praying for…
Wide Left.
The Huskies could have folded up shop…The Irish wish they did.
In the second overtime, the Huskies defense again rose up…holding Notre Dame to just a field goal.
Enter Dre Dixon…the rest is history…a history we’ll never forget.
One down, two to go…Bring on Syracuse!

GREAT GREAT WIN. The boys are worthy, (However,) just have to mention Coach Edsall’s questionable (IMO), unwillingness to use his timeouts & and that O Line and get closer for the game-winning FG attempt-I do not get it. (Again, Great Win.)
Actually Old and in the way, I tend to agree that the thought process was questionable there…if Teggart wasn’t struggling the way he is, I would think less of it…but because he’s having a tough year, I was suprised to see him rely so heavily upon him. All water under the bridge…a HUGE win.
