The Pistons stopped a seven game losing streak Sunday, getting a much needed win over  the 12-5 Atlanta Hawks.   The Pistons, who were without Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince and Ben Gordon, dug deep and gutted out a win over the 12-5 Hawks, 94-88.  Hamilton continues to nurse an ankle injury he sustained in the season opener.  He damaged 4 tendons in that ankle, which is expected to keep him sidelined for at least another two weeks.  Gordon sprained his ankle on November 25th vs Cleveland, and has not played since.  He is averaging 19.8 ppg.  Charlie Villanueva scored 13 points on 5 of 10 shooting, and added 6 rebounds.  With the win the Pistons improved to 6-11 overall, and 4-4 at home.  The Pistons are back in action Wednesday night in Chicago.

The Grizzlies fell to the Clippers, 98-88.  Memphis actually led by 16 after three, but was outscored 33-7 in the 4th quarter.  Even with the loss, the Grizzlies have been playing much better.  After starting the season 1-8, the Grizzlies have won 5 of 8, and now stand at 6-11.  Rudy Gay scored 15 points and added 10 rebounds in the loss.  Hasheem Thabeet scored 3 points and posted 5 boards and a block in 13 minutes.  Marcus Williams did not see any minutes. Gay continues to lead the team in scoring with 20.7 points per game.   The Grizzlies play in Utah Monday night.

The Celtics got a big win vs D Wade and the Heat Sunday night, 92-85.  Ray Allen’s diabetic son was hospitalized Friday night, and Ray missed the team’s practice on Saturday.  He was able to rejoin the Celts in Miami, in time for Sunday’s game.  Let’s hope everything is okay.  Ray scored 11 points on 5-13 shooting, while Boston improved to 13-4.  The C’s will be in Charlotte Tuesday night to face the Bobcats.

Oklahoma City fell to 9-8 following their 100-91 loss to Houston.  Kevin Ollie did not see any time in this one.  The Thunder are back at at it Wednesday night at home vs the 76ers.

The Hornets road woes continue, they lost is Sacramento 112-96.  New Orleans is 7-10 on the season, but 1-8 on the road.  Yikes. Emeka Ofafor has been struggling lately, but he played well in this one.  He scored 20 points on 9 of 10 shooting, and posted 9 boards and 2 blocks.  Mek is averaging 10.1 points, 9.9 boards, and 1.9 blocks per game.  Hilton Armstrong played 8 minutes and grabbed 3 rebounds.  The Hornets are in LA to take on the Lakers Tuesday night.

How about those Nets?  Lawrence Frank was fired Sunday, following the Nets 0-16 start.  New coach, same result.  “Temporary Coach” Tom Barrise is now 0-1, following a 106-87 loss in LA vs the Lakers.  Josh Boone scored 9 points in 22 minutes, on 4 of 6 shooting.  The Nets are home Wednesday night to face the Mavericks.
