Could Houston's Kevin Sumlin be headed to the Queen City?

ESPN.Com is reporting that Temple’s Al Golden, and University of Houston’s Kevin Sumlin, will both interview for the head coaching vacancy at Cincinnati.

Golden’s Temple Owls are going bowling for the for the sirt time since 1979, coming off a solid 9-3 campaign.  Golden is highly regarded as a recruiter, and the proof certainly seems to be in the pudding…Temple is definitely on the upswing.  Golden was the defensive coordinator at Virginia for 5 years before taking the Temple job.

Sumlin’s Houston Cougars went 10-2, falling to ECU in the Conference USA title game.

Sumlin has served as an assistant at Washington State, Wyoming, Minnesota, and Purdue.  He was also the assistant head coach at Texas A&M before becoming the Offensive Coordinator at Oklahoma, a post he held for 5 years.

Update, ESPN is reporting that Kevin Sumlin has declined to interview for the Cincinnati job. Butch Jones, the head coach at Central Michigan, is a name being floated around…and Golden is still in the mix.
