Ailing Pistons lose again

The Pistons are an absolute mess.  It’s actually ridiculous at this point.  Ben Gordon (ankle), Richard Hamilton (Hamstring) and Tayshaun Prince (back) are all out, and now Charlie Villanueva has plantar fasciitis.  What’s that?  It’s irritation and swelling of the thick tissue on the bottom of the foot.  Nice.

Detroit fell at home to the Raptors, 94-64.  That’s not a typo…the Pistons scored 64 points.  They only scored 27 points in the second half.   Villanueva was 0-7 from the field…in his last 3 games he is a combined 4 for 24.  I applaud Charlie for playing with what is being described as “very painful”, but if I’m Detroit, I’m sitting him down for a while.  The problem is, plantar fasciitis can take anywhere for a few months, to a year to properly heal.  This is really bad news for Charlie, and really bad news for the Pistons.

They aren’t out of it by any stretch, but losers of 6 straight, and sporting an 11-18 record, they certainly need to get the ship righted.   Help could finally be on the way, both Hamilton and Gordon are expected to return Sunday vs the Raptors, and there is a possibility that Prince may play as well.

The Nets fell to 2-27 following their 103-99 loss to the T-Wolves.  Josh Boone scored 3 points in 21 minutes, on 1-6 shooting.   They’ll host the Rockets Saturday night…hello 2-28.

The Hornets beat the Warriors, 108-102.  Of course they did…they were home.  The 13-14 Hornets improved to 11-3 in Nawlins.   Emeka Okafor grabbed 14 rebounds and scored 10 points, but did so on 4-17 shooting.  4-17?  Holy smokes.  Hilton Armstrong did not make an appearance in this one.  The Hornets will take a trip to the Windy City on Saturday night.

Caron Butler had a big night as the Wizards downed the Bucks, 109-97.   Caron scored 23 points on 9-16 shooting, and grabbed 10 boards.  The win was Washington’s 3rd in 4 tries, pushing their record to 10-17.  They’ll be in Minnesota  Saturday night to take on the T-Wolves.

Wow. Did not realize how poorly the professional version of the Huskies in Detroit were doing.

Brutal…the injuries have eaten them up in the early going…CV31 is in big trouble with the plantar fasciitis, but Gordon and Hamilton are getting close…
