The Wizards won their second in row, dowing the Knicks, 106-96. Caron Butler scored 10 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and had 4 assists. Washington improved to 16-30 with the win, they’ll host Uncle Ray and the Celtics Monday Night.
The Hornets were certainly up against it Saturday night. The Grizzlies are very tough to beat in Memphis, where they were 17-5 and had won 11 in a row. To make things just that much more daunting, the Hornets would be without Chris Paul, who bruised his knee Friday night. New Orleans’ needed every one to pick it up in Paul’s absence, and that’s exactly what they did. 5 players scored in double figures, 3 of which went over 20, and the Hornets got a huge overtime victory in Memphis, 109-102. Emeka Okafor came up big…21 points, 10 boards, 2 steals and 2 blocks…solid. Rudy Gay did not fare as well, he scored just 10 points on 3-14 shooting, and was 1-5 from behind the arc. Hasheem Thabeet scored 2 points and blocked 2 shots in 8 minutes, and Marcus Williams DNPCD.
