Rudy Gay scored a game high 28 points as the Grizzlies downed the Celtics, 111-91. Gay grabbed 8 rebounds and shot 10-18 from the field, 3-5 from beyond the arc and 5-6 from the stripe. Marcus Williams was outstanding Wednesday night, scoring 16 points and dishing 5 assists in just 22 minutes. Hasheem Thabeet contributed nicely as well, scoring 7 points and grabbing 6 boards in 26 minutes. Ray Allen scored 17 points in the loss. The win was the Grizzlies’ 4th in 5 games as they improved to 34-31, while Celtics dropped to 43-20.
The Pistons’ nightmare season continued as they lost for the 7th time in 8 tries, falling at home to Utah 115-104. Charlie Villanueva scored a game high 19 points, while Richard Hamilton and Ben Gordon kicked in 16 and 11 respectively. Detroit actually had 7 players score in double figures but the defense was spotty Wednesday night…the Jazz shot over 56% as a team…for goodness sakes somebody put a hand up. The Pistons are back in action Friday night at home vs the Wizards.
Caron Butler scored 18 points as Dallas won their 13th in a row, 96-87 over the Nets. Butler was 7-14 from the floor and 4-4 from the stripe. Josh Boone scored just 2 points and picked up 4 fouls in just 11 minutes. The win moved the Mavericks to within 2.5 games of West leading Los Angeles.
The Hornets fell to Oklahoma City 98-83, in what was not exactly a banner night for Emeka Okafor. 2 points, 3 boards and 2 blocks in 24 minutes. The loss dropped Nawlins’ back to a game under .500, they’ll host the Nuggets Friday night.

Gay seems to be playing pretty good ball eh? Butler solid as always. Is Charlie V the best Husky on Detroit?
Leaving uncle Ray out of the discussion, What is the consensus on the top 3 Huskies in the NBA this year?
If we are leaving Ray Allen out of the discussion I’d say :
1. Rudy Gay 20.0 and 5.9
2. Caron Butler 16.9 and 6.3
3. Emeka Okafor 10.6 pts and 9.2
4. Rip Hamilton 18.8, 4.6 apg, and 3.1 rpg (I’d have him higher but he missed a ton of games this year.
