Shabazz Napier committed to UConn in Friday, becoming the second player in the class of 2011 to do so. Napier is a 5’11″ point guard who is widely considered New England’s top prospect for 2011 and is rated a 94 by ESPN.com. Scout.com ranks him the #9 pg in the class. He chose the Huskies over Providence, St. John’s, Rutgers, UMass, Miami, Florida and others. Napier joins 6’7″ SF Maurice Harkless in the 2011 class, who is ranked #50 overall by Rivals.com and rated a 93 by ESPN.com. Mike Anthony of the Hartford Courant is reporting that Napier will likely reclassify, and join Tyler Olander, Roscoe Smith, Michael Bradley and Jeremy Lamb in the class of 2010…we will keep you posted on that.
