Robert McClain played in Charlotte in the 2007 Meineke Car Care Bowl, and now he’ll get a chance to call the Stadium home. He was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the 7th round, #249 overall. McClain was not invited to the NFL Combine, but had a strong showing at the UConn pro day, running a 4.42 forty yard dash, and turning heads with a 38-inch vertical jump and 23 reps on the bench press at 225 pounds.
McClain had 64 tackles and four interceptions in 2009, and finished his UConn career with 129 tackles and 10 interceptions.
