UConn RB Andre Dixon has been invited by the New York Giants for a tryout this upcoming weekend at the Giants’ mini-camp.
Dixon rushed for 1,093 yards and 14 touchdowns last season, and finished his UConn career with 1,958 yards and 17 rushing TD’s.

UConn Defensive End Lindsey Witten has been signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent. Quite frankly, I was shocked when Witten was not selected in this years draft. I saw some other Big East Defensive Ends get drafted on Saturday that Lindsey Witten is every bit as good as. Either way, Lindsey will get his shot to prove teams wrong for passing on him. The same happened to Julius Williams last season, who signed as a undrafted free agent with Jacksonville. Williams not only made the Jags he saw the field in 2009.
Witten led the Big East in sacks with 11.5, which ranked him 9th nationally. He finished his UConn career with 22 sacks.
Good luck boys!

The Giants are a much better fit for Dixon than the Steelers were. The G-Men don't have much in the backfield, while the Steelers are loaded. Much better chance of making the squad. Witten has a bit of a tougher road ahead, but I think he's at the very least practice squad material.
Totally agree Brett. Jacobs seems in decline and an injury risk, Bradshaw is a change of pace. Ware and Brown are untested/unproven…he has a shot imo.
