Boston 120, Cleveland 88
Ray Allen was all sorts of hot last night, scoring a team high 25 points on 8-13 shooting. He was 6-9 from deep and 3-3 from the stripe…Sugar Ray was feeling it last night. Allen wasn’t the only one feeling it last night, five other Celtics were in double figures, including 21 from Paul Pierce, 18 from Kevin Garnett and 16 from Rajon Rondo. Glen Big Baby Davis had a big 4th quarter, scoring 12 of his 15 points in the final period.
Even with the Celtics hanging 120 points and shooting a blistering 55% as a team, it was the Celtics defense that Ray Allen and Paul Pierce (video interview below) pointed to in their post game interviews. They were right, the Celtics held the Cavaliers to just 68 shots, allowing them to make just 41% of those, and forced 17 turnovers. LeBron James was never a factor in this one, going 3-14 from the field for just 15 points.
The Celtics will look to eliminate the Cavs on Thursday night at 8PM, when the series resumes in Boston.
