Wilbert Lee, a 6’3″ 215 lb safety from Brooklyn, New York has committed to the Huskies per Desmond Conner.   Lee is the second NYC commit in as many years (Lyle McCombs, Staten Island).

There’s not much out there on Lee at the moment.  The recruiting sites don’t have profiles for him, and there’s nothing on Youtube.

Des mentioned that Syracuse and Rutgers were recruiting him, and  StateofRutgers.com says the same.

Lee was named All City First Team Special Teams KR by Five Boro Sports as just a sophomore…they had the following to say after the 2008 season :

The Kangaroos may graduate almost every significant player on their roster, but not Lee, a dynamic running back/kick returner/wide receiver/linebacker. The impressively built 6-foot-3 sophomore is now the face of Boys & Girls football and coach Barry O’Connor couldn’t be happier. Lee is a threat any time he touches the ball.
Lee had a relatively quiet regular season. But when playoff time came, he all but put Boys on his back. He ran for a game-clinching, 70-yard touchdown against Campus Magnet in the first round. Then the following week against Sheepshead Bay, he found two more ways to score: once on an interception return and another off a pass from quarterback Evan Rugel. What makes it most scary: Lee, a 6-foot-3, 213-pound sophomore, was the youngest player on the team.

Zach Braziller of the New York Post called Lee the most versatile player in New York City’s Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL).

I’ll keep digging…
