McQuillan accounted for over 2100 yards and 30 TD's last season at Glastonbury High
Sean McQuillan, a 6’4″ 230 lb athlete from Glastonbury, CT has given the Huskies their 8th pledge for the 2011 class. McQuillan rushed for over 1000 yards and 21 touchdowns, and threw for 1,100 yards and 9 touchdowns last season at Glastonbury High.
McQuillan had offers from Western Michigan, Temple and Buffalo, and was drawing interest from Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland, and Boston College. McQuillan’s GPA wasn’t where it needed to be coming out of his senior season, so according him a lot of schools “backed off”. UConn and other encouraged him to do a year of prep, which he will this season at Avon Old Farms (CT).
The newest Husky is saying all the right things, telling the Hartford Courant’s Desmond Conner “UConn is the place I’ve wanted to go, my dream, since I was seven years old.” Booyah to that.
McQuillan has 4.6 speed which is rare for a kid of his size. I see him lining up at tight end and playing a nice roll in the passing game in the future.
Espn.com has a nice video of the kid.
