I’ve “bolded” some talking points.
Let’s start at the top :
Look at Leon Kinnard in the two-deep at WR. Go’ head Leon. I love this…
Adam Masters beat out Jimmy Bennett. Masters must be A) very good, and B) Working his tail off.
Mike Box wins the #2 job…no surprise, but noteworthy.
Robbie Frey OR DJ Shoemate…my guess is they’ll both have some plays in the arsenal this week.
Over to the defense…
Nothing new on the defensive line, let’s have a look at the linebackers, shall we?
Sneaky Randy, very sneaky. So Greg Lloyd will NOT redshirt and will return to the middle this season. Lutrus back to Husky. If Lloyd is healthy enough to go, this is a no -brainer. You want your best three backers on the field, and Lutrus, Wilson and Lloyd are certainly that.
Harris Agbor beat out Jerome Junior at safety. Junior was slowed this summer by some injuries, and Agbor has reportedly played well. Edsall coached the safeties…if he says he won, he won.
Kijuan Dabney beat out Mike Lang for the other safety spot. I’m mildly disappointed only because I think Lang is a terrific athlete, and would like to see him on the field. Dabney is a long time Husky with plenty of experience, and must be playing better of late, so I can’t knock the decision…
Taylor Mack and Gilbert StLouis are both listed on the two deep at corner. That’s noteworthy why? Both are true freshman. Holy inexperience, but both were highly rated recruits out of the south (Mack from GA and StLouis from FL), so it’s not shocking…but a bit surprising.
